Film Forum Review - Beasts of the Southern Wild

Nominated for a 2013 Oscar, "Beasts of the Southern Wild" delves in to storytelling at its finest. Discussing ambiguity, subtlety, and imaginative creatures, Mikel Wisler and Kristina Kaiser, hosts of the Film Forum Review, revisit the discussion of "Beasts of the Southern Wild" at the February 2013 River Film Forum. Questions raised, include: "Were the beasts literal or figurative?"; "If figurative, what were they symbolizing?"; "How can one foster more curiosity?"; and a question to think about that CeaseFireStrategies thought of while listening, "Should movies be ambiguous, leaving questions unanswered?"

Plot:
Faced with both her hot tempered father's fading health and melting ice-caps that flood her ramshackle bayou community and unleash ancient aurochs, six year old Hushpuppy must learn the ways of courage and love.
